The D’Souza’s family is blessed with two beautiful daughters- Tia and Keira, who were of very contrasting personalities. The family’s main requirement was in designing their daughters’ bedrooms so that it would complement both their unique characteristics. And we were more than delighted to take up this challenge because we love to push our limits, and we never leave a challenge that comes in our way.
Design in Details
The younger daughter was studious by nature, whereas the elder daughter was in her teenage years and loved dressing up. Although their rooms were just about the same size, we needed to fit in very distinct design requirements as the daughters were poles apart, not only by age but also in their preferences.
In the younger daughter’s room, we dedicated a study area which was an absolute physical requirement for Keira. And we provided her with the utility of larger desk space and an extendable double bed for times when she has sleepovers. Also, we played with light and energetic colours as she was still very young.
Whereas for the elder daughter’s room, we wanted it to reflect a much more mature personality. So we integrated a royal design theme. And the design changes we made here were completely different. We gave her a dedicated dressing area with a large mirror. From the customised and handcrafted mirror to the individual light fittings that we used in her room, every element was attentively selected to match the overall theme.
Incredible Result
Both the daughter’s rooms required large storage space, which we accomplished in two very different ways. We maximised their use of space while sticking to their individual design themes. Plus, their contrasting personalities called for changes in the physical requirements which we integrated into the base layout. We gladly welcomed this challenge and worked with absolute enthusiasm in delivering them the makeover they imagined.
